Throughout 4 discipline seasons spanning 2014 by 2017, Venture ArAGATS (Archaeology and Geography of Historical Transcaucasian Societies) expanded our long-term analysis on the origins and improvement of complicated political techniques within the South Caucasus with a complete research of the higher Kasakh River valley in north-central Armenia. The Kasakh Valley Archaeological Survey employed each systematic transect survey of 43 km2 and intensive satellite- and drone-based reconnaissance to accommodate the complicated topography of the Lesser Caucasus and the impacts of Soviet-era land amelioration. Although our survey was animated by questions associated to the chronology and distribution of Bronze and Iron Age fortifications and cemeteries, we additionally recorded Paleolithic websites stretching again to the earliest human settlement of the Caucasus, Early Bronze Age floor finds, and historic panorama modifications.
