McKellen to reprise function of Hamlet at Edinburgh Fringe
I’ve learn a number of instances about Sir Ian’s causes for playing Hamlet at his age: performing is all about playing one thing you’re not, younger actors play previous characters on a regular basis, and so on. But I’m nonetheless unsure that I purchase the entire thing. I imply, McKellen is a nice actor, everybody is aware of that. But I really feel as if my keen suspension of disbelief has limits. I do know many glorious feminine actors have performed Hamlet lately, and I’ve seen a few these. One I preferred quite a bit, and the opposite I didn’t like practically as a lot.
I must ponder this a bit extra earlier than I can actually determine the place I stand. I’d love to listen to from anybody who thinks that is an superior concept. (Or when you assume it’s ridiculous, let me know that, too…)
