In celebration of Black History Month, Ulster County Clerk Nina Postupack has introduced the most recent show within the Historical Profiles sequence that includes entertainer and group patron Clayton ‘Peg Leg’ Bates.
The exhibit panel might be on show for the month of February on the first flooring of the Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair Street, in Kingston, NY.
Celebrated dancer and resort-owner Clayton ‘Peg Leg’ Bates was a beloved member of his group, each in Kerhonkson and his childhood house of Fountain Inn, South Carolina. He cherished entertaining and usually used his skills to lift funds for the much less lucky.
Peg Leg was a agency believer that everybody deserved happiness, no matter race or their situation in life.
